Coastal Marine services and repairs Yamaha outboards at its Shore Drive shop in Virginia Beach — diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance, done by factory-trained Yamaha technicians.

Repower Center

Yamaha Factory Certified

Who works on it

A Yamaha bench,
not a general shop.

Coastal Marine is an Elite Yamaha dealer and an authorized Yamaha Repower Center. A factory-trained Yamaha Master Technician — the highest service credential Yamaha awards — is on site, backed by a bench of four Yamaha-certified techs. Warranty work is done in-house, so your engine doesn't have to be shipped to another dealer and back.

Practically, that means the diagnosis comes off Yamaha's own software and the parts come out of the genuine Yamaha parts inventory. We tell you what we found, what it costs, and what we'd do if the boat were ours.

Ready when you are.

What we do

Outboard work,
start to finish.

Diagnostics

We put the engine on Yamaha's diagnostic software, pull the computer history, and tell you what we found before we touch anything.

Repair

Engine troubleshooting and professional fixes — most makes and most models, with the Yamaha bench doing the work.

Routine maintenance

Oil changes, winterizations, system checks, and the annual 100-hour service that keeps a warranty intact.

Rewiring & rigging

Boat rewiring, controls, and rigging work — done on the same bench, so the engine and the wiring behind it get looked at together.

Not a repair — a schedule, or a new engine?

Annual service is the scheduled work that keeps repairs rare. A repower is the answer when an engine has aged past being worth fixing. Both are handled by the same bench.

Coastal Marine Sales & Services services Yamaha outboards at 3765 Shore Drive in Virginia Beach, near the Lesner Bridge at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. The shop is an authorized Yamaha Repower Center with a factory-trained Yamaha Master Technician on site, backed by a bench of four Yamaha-certified technicians. Work covers outboard diagnostics, repairs, routine maintenance, and the annual 100-hour service. Call (757) 464-4600 or send a service request to schedule.

Yes. Coastal Marine handles engine troubleshooting and repairs on most makes and most models. The shop's factory training and parts inventory are Yamaha, and Yamaha is the only brand of new outboard it sells and installs, but general outboard diagnostics and repair work is not limited to Yamaha engines. Call (757) 464-4600 with your engine's make, model, and approximate hours and the shop will tell you whether it can take the job.

Yamaha Master Technician is the highest service credential Yamaha awards a technician. Coastal Marine has a factory-trained Yamaha Master Technician on site, and Yamaha's own dealer locator lists the shop under both Master Technician and Repower Installation. In practice it means diagnosis comes off Yamaha's diagnostic software and the technician has completed Yamaha's full factory training track rather than general marine training.

Yes. Coastal Marine performs Yamaha warranty work in-house at its Shore Drive shop, so a warranty repair does not mean shipping your engine to another dealer and waiting for it to come back. Bring the engine or the boat in, or call (757) 464-4600 first with your engine model and serial number so the shop can check coverage before you make the trip.

The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm, with Sunday and Monday by appointment. Send a service request or call (757) 464-4600 to get on the schedule. How soon depends on the season — spring and early summer are the busiest stretch of the year for a Virginia Beach service bay, so booking ahead of the season gets you in faster.

Not necessarily. Coastal Marine can pick a boat up around Virginia Beach, bring it to the Shore Drive shop for service, and return it when the work is finished. Whether a particular boat qualifies depends on its size and how reachable it is to tow, and there is no set price — the shop confirms the pickup details and any cost with you before setting a time. Ask about pickup when you send a service request, or call (757) 464-4600.
